The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced that tours for the Burley Idaho Temple are underway.
These tours began with a Monday media day and will continue with tours for invited guests held Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as with a public open house period held every day — excluding Sundays — from Thursday, Nov. 6, through Nov. 22.
During the public open house period, guests of all faiths and ages will be welcome to tour the temple free of charge and without prior reservation.
Following this period, the Burley temple will be dedicated on Sunday, Jan. 11, with a dedicatory session that will be broadcast to all church units within the temple district. The Church News has reported the temple’s January dedication will mark the first temple dedication of 2026.

“Temples are a vital part of the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fulness,” said the late church President Russell M. Nelson, upon announcing the Burley Idaho Temple in April 2021.
“Ordinances of the temple fill our lives with power and strength available in no other way. We thank God for those blessings.”
Leading local officials and other invited guests through the Monday media day tours was Elder Steven R. Bangerter, executive director of the church’s temple department. He was accompanied by Elder K. Brett Nattress and Elder Karl D. Hirst, both General Authority Seventies of the church.
About the Burley Idaho Temple
The Burley Idaho Temple — located at 40 S. 150 East in Burley, Idaho — is a two-story edifice of approximately 45,300 square feet.
It sits on a 10.12-acre site, and its decorations inside feature colors that “reflect the farmland and open skies that surround the area,” according to a Monday release on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

Featured on the temple’s stained glass patterns is the potato plant blossom, which was selected to tie the area’s agricultural heritage to the temple’s design.
The Burley Idaho Temple was one of 20 temples announced by President Nelson in April 2021 general conference. Its groundbreaking ceremony took place on June 4, 2022, and once dedicated, the Burley temple will become the church’s seventh operating temple in Idaho — a state currently home to nearly 500,000 church members in roughly 1,300 congregations.
The church’s six other operating temples in the state are in Idaho Falls, Boise, Rexburg, Twin Falls, Meridian and Pocatello, Idaho. Another four in the state are either under construction or in planning stages.
