The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced its annual Christmas devotional will be broadcast Sunday, Dec. 7.
As per tradition, the devotional will feature Christ-centered messages from the church’s leaders and include music performed by the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square.
Yet unlike years past, this year’s devotional broadcast “will not be a live, ticketed event open to the public,” according to a statement released Wednesday on ChurchofJesusChrist.org. Instead, this year’s broadcast will present a prerecorded devotional that has already been taped on the set of the church’s “Savior of the World” production in Salt Lake City.

Where to find previous First Presidency Christmas devotionals
A library of the First Presidency’s previous Christmas devotionals is available online and includes messages from 2010 to the present.
“Peace, good will toward men” is the message of Christmas, taught President Dallin H. Oaks, then-first counselor in the church’s First Presidency, during the presidency’s Christmas devotional in 2024.
“The spirit of Christmas encourages us to use this season to step across barriers and promote understanding and love with people of all races, creeds and national origins,” he said then. “... Just as Christmas celebrates the birth of him (Jesus Christ) who gave his life for all of us, so each of us should use Christmas as a time for improving the ways we give to our fellow men.”
