Alongside the location announcement of the Spanish Fork Utah Temple, the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also announced milestones — including dedication and groundbreaking dates — for temples in California, Guatemala and Mozambique.
Dedication, open house dates announced for Yorba Linda California Temple
The Yorba Linda California Temple will be dedicated Sunday, June 7, following a public open house period that will run Monday through Saturday from April 30 to May 23.
The dedicatory session will be broadcast to all church units within the temple district at 10 a.m., and will then be rebroadcast at 2 p.m. that same day.
Prior to the temple’s public open house and dedication, a media day will also be held Monday, April 27, and invited guests will tour the temple April 28-29.
“We want to bring the house of the Lord even closer to our members, that they may have the sacred privilege of attending the temple as often as their circumstances allow,” said the late Church President Russell M. Nelson, just before announcing the Yorba Linda temple and 19 others in April 2021 general conference.

To become the church’s ninth operating temple in California upon its dedication, the Yorba Linda temple will help serve the state’s nearly 729,000 Latter-day Saints.

Huehuetenango Guatemala Temple to break ground in March
Construction of the church’s Huehuetenango Guatemala Temple will officially begin following a groundbreaking ceremony to be held Saturday, March 14.
Presiding at the ceremony will be Elder Patricio M. Giuffra, president of the church’s Central America Area.
The Huehuetenango Guatemala Temple was first announced by President Nelson in October 2022 general conference.
It will be located at 18 Avenida, Zona 4, El Terrero, Huehuetenango, Guatemala, and will help serve the more than 292,000 Latter-day Saints that call Guatemala home.

Location announced for Mozambique’s first Latter-day Saint temple
The Beira Mozambique Temple will be constructed on a 2.5-acre site located at Avenida 24 de Julho in Beira, Mozambique.
Plans for the temple call for a single-story structure of approximately 10,000 square feet, along with patron housing and arrival facilities, according to a release on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
The Beira temple will be located next to an existing meetinghouse, the church’s release further states. And an exterior rendering of the temple will be provided at a later date.
As the first Latter-day Saint temple in the East African country, the Beira Mozambique Temple will help serve the nearly 32,000 Latter-day Saints that reside in Mozambique.
