The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released the locations and exterior renderings of four future Latter-day Saint temples: one in the United States and three in the Philippines.
To be the first Latter-day Saint temple in South Dakota, the Rapid City South Dakota Temple is planned to be built on a 4.86-acre lot located at the northeast corner of Mount Rushmore Road and Moon Meadows Drive in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Plans for the temple call for a single-story structure of approximately 11,800 square feet, accompanied by an ancillary building, according to a news release published Monday on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
“Time in the temple increases our confidence before the Lord,” taught the late church President Russell M. Nelson, just moments before announcing the Rapid City temple in April 2025 general conference.
The Rapid City temple was one of the last 15 temples announced by the late church president. It was also the first announced for South Dakota and will help serve the state’s nearly 12,000 Latter-day Saints.

In the Philippines, three of the island nation’s 14 Latter-day Saint temples that are currently in operation, under construction and in planning/design stages also had their locations and exterior renderings released.
The Naga Philippines Temple, first announced in October 2022 general conference, is planned to be built on a 9.11-acre site on Lot 1045-A-1-A in Barangay Concepcion Grande, in the city of Naga, Bicol, north Philippines.
The Santiago Philippines Temple, also announced in October 2022 general conference, will be constructed on a 14.47-acre site located east of Camella Isabella Main Road in Barangay Malvar, Santiago City, Province of Isabela, Philippines.
And the Iloilo Philippines Temple, announced by President Nelson in April 2023 general conference, will be built on a 7.7-acre lot located at Circumferential Road 1, Green Meadows, Barangay Tacas, Jaro District, Iloilo, Philippines.

All three of these temples announced for the Philippines are planned to be single-story structures of approximately 18,850 square feet, according to the church’s news release.
The Naga temple will be accompanied by an ancillary building and a Latter-day Saint meetinghouse; the Santiago temple will be accompanied by patron housing, a distribution center and a meetinghouse; and the Iloilo temple will be accompanied by patron housing, a distribution center, an arrival facility and a meetinghouse.
Of the Philippines 14 temples, four are currently in operation, two are scheduled for dedication in May, another two are under construction and six — including the Naga, Santiago and Iloilo Philippines temples — are in planning/design stages.
