The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints looked to the global church’s 2026 Easter season with a message and invitation published in late February to “seek this Jesus.”
“Jesus Christ is risen,” church President Dallin H. Oaks wrote with his counselors, President Henry B. Eyring and President D. Todd Christofferson.
“We invite each of you during this Easter season to ‘seek this Jesus of whom the prophets and apostles have written,’” reads the message published Feb. 22 on ChurchofJesusChrist.org and social media.
“As you do so, we testify that your Easter celebrations can strengthen your own faith and testimony that ‘death is conquered; man is free. Christ has won the victory.’”
Here’s a summary of what else the church’s First Presidency has said this Easter season, plus a compiled list of study and multimedia resources published by the church to enhance families’ and individuals’ 2026 Easter celebrations.
What the First Presidency has taught this Easter season
The First Presidency of the church testified of Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection in its Feb. 22 Easter message, saying:
“(Jesus Christ) lives! The Savior of the world was crucified and, on the third day, rose from the dead, ‘the firstfruits of them that slept’ (1 Corinthians 15:20). His resurrection allows all to be resurrected, and through his grace, we can find peace ‘which passeth all understanding’ (Philippians 4:7) and ‘be perfected in him’ (Moroni 10:32).”
The First Presidency then released a video weeks later where each shared his testimony of Jesus Christ and encouraged Latter-day Saints worldwide to invite friends, family and neighbors to worship with them on Palm Sunday in their local chapels.
“Jesus Christ’s atoning sacrifice and resurrection are the ultimate evidence of God’s love,” President Oaks said in the video published March 1. “He called us his friends and declared: ‘Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.’
“His Atonement is a universal gift made possible by his love and the love of the Father.”
With the release of this video, the First Presidency also encouraged Latter-day Saints to join the church’s April 2026 general conference on Easter weekend to celebrate Christ and his resurrection.
The conference, to take place April 4-5, will feature four general sessions and a solemn assembly, during which President Oaks will be sustained as church prophet and president.
Latter-day Saint study resources for Holy Week
Study resources commemorating Easter and the final week of Christ’s life — known as Holy Week — were made available in 10 languages starting Feb. 22 on Easter.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
One resource features a daily study plan beginning Palm Sunday, March 29, and ending Monday, April 6 — a day following Easter Sunday.
Each day of the study plan, which is also available on the church’s Gospel Library app, includes a one-paragraph message, along with related scriptures and messages from church leaders, invitations, additional resources and suggested activities for children.
Further study resources for Easter, plus Holy Week resources for children, are also linked on the church’s Easter site.
“As you learn of Christ, feel His love and follow his example, you will find the peace, hope and joy that comes from being his disciple,” the church’s Easter website reads.

Other multimedia resources to celebrate the Easter season
To help Latter-day Saints and friends further enhance their study and celebrations this Easter season, the Church of Jesus Christ has also released several multimedia resources.
One was a video titled “Jesus Christ’s Greater Love for You.” It was published March 1 and depicts events in the final week of Christ’s life, starting with his triumphal entry and ending with his resurrection.
“Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, all will live again,” a narrator’s voice states in the video.
“Because of Him, you can experience a fullness of joy — this is greater love, this is Easter.”
Other multimedia resources include the Easter music and video playlists the church has curated and published on its YouTube channel, as well as the Easter images library published on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
The Easter music playlist, also available on Spotify, highlights themes of Christ’s love and grace through musical arrangements of songs, such as “I Stand All Amazed” and “I Feel My Savior’s Love.”
The church’s Easter video playlists contain testimonies of the apostles, witnesses of the living Christ and Bible videos depicting the Savior’s life.
