The just over quarter-century-old Conference Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City has officially closed to the public for renovations ahead of the Salt Lake Temple’s six-month open house in 2027.
However, the Conference Center — which closed for an 11-month renovation period starting Monday, March 30 — will briefly reopen to the public this weekend for the church’s April 2026 general conference on April 4–5.
It will briefly reopen again for general conference in October and other major scheduled events until it is fully reopened on March 1, 2027, as previously announced by the church.
Here is a look at what else is currently closed or open to visitors at the five-block Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City, plus information on things to do there and how to plan a visit.
