In Acts 16 of the New Testament, the Apostle Paul is imprisoned in Macedonia. At midnight, he and fellow prisoner Silas pray and sing “praises unto God.” After they sang, the ground shook, the prison doors opened and the jailer was converted.

While not everyone will have the same exact experience as Paul in that Macedonian prison, just like the converted jailer, music can help our souls feel the love of the Savior, deepen our conversion and calm troubled hearts.

In 2021, Craig Jessop, a musician, singer and former music director for The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, spoke to a group of military chaplains about the power of music in worship and its ability to “open heavenly portals.”

As Christians worldwide commemorate the Resurrection, many are looking for ways to quiet the noise of the world and focus on the Savior. Whether it is a hymn sung in a prison cell 2,000 years ago, in a chapel or in a home, music has the unique ability to deepen our testimonies of Jesus Christ.

With that in mind, here are a few songs performed by Christian artists and groups from around the world who share their faith and testimonies through music to help us feel the spirit of the Easter season.
