Another temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mexico will be dedicated this November.

The Torreón Mexico Temple will be dedicated Sunday, Nov. 22, by Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, according to a church press release published Monday on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

The Torreón temple’s dedicatory session will be broadcast to all church units in the temple district and will take place two weeks after the dedication of another central-Mexico temple — the San Luis Potosí Mexico Temple, to be dedicated Nov. 1.

3 new statues of Jesus Christ added to Temple Square, 2 more coming soon

“Temples are a vital part of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fulness,” late church President Russell M. Nelson said just moments before announcing the Torreón temple in April 2021 general conference.

“Ordinances of the temple fill our lives with power and strength available in no other way,” he said then. “We thank God for those blessings.”

President Nelson announced plans to build the Torreón temple and 19 others on April 4, 2021. He announced 200 temples during his nearly eight-year tenure as prophet. Of these, 14 were temples in Mexico.

Mexico now has 27 announced temples. Fourteen are currently in operation, one is under construction, and 10 are in planning and design stages. Two temples — the San Luis Potosí and Torreón Mexico temples — are scheduled for dedication and will bump the number of operating temples in Mexico to 16 this November.

Together, Mexico’s temples will help serve the nation’s over 1.5 million Latter-day Saints.
