Skiers will definitely need a map to navigate one of Utah’s and the nation’s top ski areas that will double in size this season as part of a multiyear expansion plan that isn’t done yet.

Deer Valley Resort has released its updated trail map for the 2025-26 season reflecting the latest phase of its Expanded Excellence initiative.

The ski-only resort offers 31 chairlifts, over 200 runs, seven bowls and 4,300 skiable acres, doubling its size and making it among the largest in North America.

“This year’s map captures a significant moment in Deer Valley’s history,” Susie English, vice president of marketing, said in a press release. “With more lifts, more runs, and a greatly expanded footprint, it reflects how far we’ve come in realizing our vision to elevate the Deer Valley experience while still maintaining the character and care that define our resort.”

In 2023, Deer Valley acquired 3,700 acres of terrain in an agreement with Extell Development Company. It announced its ambitious plan to eventually have 37 lifts serving more than 200 ski runs across 5,726 acres, along with over 1,500 residential units and hundreds of new hotel rooms.

Deer Valley’s expansion initiative includes additional terrain and lifts planned for Hail Peak in the 2026-27 season, followed by future development on South Peak in later phases.

The plan calls for a total of 5,726 skiable acres, a new base area and portal at Deer Valley East Village with 1,200 new day skier parking spaces, a Snow Park base area remodel and improvement to existing mountain infrastructure.

As new areas open, the trail map will continue to evolve to reflect Deer Valley’s growing footprint.

Renowned ski map artist Rad Smith painted the new Deer Valley map. “It was a challenge to paint 100 new ski runs + 10 new chairlifts into a seamless landscape with their already impressive terrain footprint,” he posted on X.
