Finding a Home for the Holidays for these shelter animals

The Humane Society of Utah invited a group of area families to join them for the Home for the Holidays gathering on Tuesday at the shelter in Murray.

The group staged its popular short-term foster program designed to give shelter dogs a break from the kennel environment. By placing dogs in loving homes for the holiday weekend, the program helps reduce stress, improve socialization skills and provide valuable insights into each dog’s behavior in a home setting.

During the event, 22 families were placed with a dog based on needs and other factors.

Deseret News photojournalist Laura Seitz was there for the delightful holiday meet-and-greet.
