The Girl Scouts of the USA have announced two new first-of-their-kind cookies that will go on sale early next year.
For the first time, the organization is releasing cookies for dogs — named Patch Pals — and there will also be new allergy-friendly cookies, dubbed Sparkables.
The organization said the cookies were inspired by Girl Scouts who wanted to ensure that more people — and their pets — could be involved in the cookie program. The Girl Scouts sell around 200 million cookies each year, per The Associated Press.
“Inspired by Girl Scouts around the country who have advocated for expanding the cookie lineup to meet the diverse needs of their communities, Patch Pals and Girl Scout Sparkables offer new ways for more girls, families and beloved pets to participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program — while staying true to what makes the tradition special,” said the organization, per People.
Girl Scouts’ new cookies for dogs
The new soft baked cookies for dogs are blueberry-muffin flavored and were developed with Bark, a seller of dog treats and toys based in New York. The Patch Pals will be sold exclusively online as part of the 2027 lineup.
“For four-legged family members, Patch Pals offer a playful new way to take part in the fun,” said a release from the Girl Scouts, per People.
The organization also shared that the dog treats were inspired by Girl Scouts’ love for their dogs and are a celebration of “the bond between people and their pups.”
Each of the Patch Pal cookies will feature one of four “patch” designs to represent iconic experiences that Girl Scouts have, according to People.
Girl Scouts’ new allergy-friendly cookies
Sparkables are the organization’s first allergy-friendly cookie. The crunchy oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips and colored sprinkles are made in a special facility to avoid nine major allergens. These allergens include milk, wheat, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts and sesame.
The allergy-friendly cookies, which are nut free, gluten-free and vegan, were developed with New Jersey-based Partake Foods. They will only be available online.
“Girl Scout Sparkables bring a new level of inclusivity to the Girl Scout Cookie portfolio as its first-ever cookie developed for families navigating certain food allergies,” said a release from Girl Scouts, per People.
When will the new cookies be available?
Both Patch Pals and Sparkables will be part of the 2027 cookie lineup. The Girl Scout Cookie season typically runs from January to April, per USA Today.
The new cookies will be sold along classic favorites such as Caramel deLites, Thin Mints and Tagalongs.

According to the AP, the Girl Scouts did not say how much the new cookies would cost. Cookies typically range from $6 to $7 per box but prices vary by region.
