Whether or not the grassroots movement to put the tax reform referendum on the ballot in November is successful, it has been great to experience and witness the enthusiasm of a group of residents who have put political differences aside and are working tirelessly to fight the powers that be. These powers have so arrogantly told us to be quiet and let them decide what is best for us.
I hope that this enthusiasm and activism remains alive and well in the future. Some representatives may be losing their positions soon. I know my representatives have some explaining to do.
In questioning the citizens of Utah’s understanding of this hastily passed bill, and expressing disappointment in the actions and referendum support of great businesses of Utah, Gov. Herbert and the Legislature have poked a sleeping giant. Thank you, Gov. Herbert.
