Sen. Mitt Romney is interested in hearing from John Bolton. This is probably a good idea, but I am worried that Sen. Romney will miss the point.

So far, President Donald Trump is the only president since 1988 to not engage us in a foreign war. Yes he has done some tough things, but in a way that has yielded more peace. I am surprised at Trump’s foreign policy restraint. Bolton is a recognized war hawk, someone who has pushed for conflict with Iran. No wonder Trump had to fire him.

Will Sen. Romney also question Bolton about his long struggle to enmesh our fighting men and women in another pointless war? Will he ask the uncomfortable questions about Bolton’s underlying agenda against the president he supposedly served?
