Thank you for your excellent editorial about the blue skies that are a byproduct of the otherwise terrible coronavirus. This unique situation has made “clear” not only the impact of pollution on us and our world, but that we can and should be addressing it.
In addition to making the air in our cities unhealthy, these polluting emissions of heat-trapping gases are driving climate change. According to NASA and NOAA “19 of the 20 warmest years have all occurred since 2001” and “human activities are changing the natural greenhouse.”
To continue as we are will be disastrous to our children and grandchildren. We can be good stewards of this beautiful earth, which we have been blessed with, by doing our part to address this issue. The bipartisan Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act, HR763, will address this issue and has more co-sponsors in Congress (80) than any other climate bill - ever. I would like to encourage all to ask their representatives to support this bill.
