On July 6, Canada announced just under 300 new coronavirus cases, Australia registered 137 and South Korea registered 44. The entire African and European continents registered under 20,000. In fact, most places in Asia and Europe are reopening after closing down in the spring and summer to gain the upper hand on the virus. Life with schools, jobs and sports is coming back.

Meanwhile, the United States registered nearly 51,000 new cases. We are consistently adding 50,000 new cases every single day. This has resulted in Americans being banned from many industrialized countries. Why have we given up on any attempt to contain this virus? Don’t we care about saving lives? Where is our country’s leadership? Where is our state’s leadership? Don’t we find it embarrassing that Utah is registering more daily cases than most European countries? Where are our state’s religious leaders? Has America ever surrendered so quickly? Aren’t we supposed to be the leader of the free world, the “shining city on a hill?”
