I write today to support the “Build Back Better” Act. The U.S. Treasury Department has found that this act will be fully paid for and reduce the deficit. I know Republicans believe in reducing the deficit.

The act includes supply chain reinforcement. It funds mental health and suicide prevention, which is a huge issue here in Utah. In addition, this legislation helps America stay safe. The climate provisions in the act are in line with the Department of Defense’ concerns related to national security.

The Defense Department has recently made climate change a national security priority, and they are integrating climate considerations into their policies, strategies and all of their partner engagements. I know our members of Congress support our troops. They should help America become a leader again, and support the “Build Back Better” Act.
