One week ago, the White House launched the “Arcade” section on its official website, featuring a variety of retro-inspired arcade games promoting the Trump administration’s initiatives. The introduction of the games drew response from all sides.
The White House on Sept. 3 posted on X, promoting its new games, “Build the wall. Deport. Fill a Trump Account.”
By on Tuesday, “Build the Wall,” a Tetris-inspired game, had been taken off the White House’s website. Players stack blocks to help build a wall to protect the border.
Tetris posted on X that the company “was not involved in the creation of ‘Build the Wall’” and that it takes “copyright infringement very seriously.”
“At Tetris we believe in the power of connection and bringing people together, not dividing them. To our fans everywhere: we love you, we see you, and we’re grateful to have you in our community.”
Reactions to this statement were mixed. One X user said, “This isn’t 2020. You don’t need to do this woke nonsense anymore.”
Others praised the company: “Finally a company has the guts to make a statement.”
The White House has yet to release a statement on the copyright issue.
Other arcade games include “Rio Run,” a “Snake”-inspired game where players help to catch and deport immigrants along the Rio Grande.
A Flappy Bird, now dubbed “Flappy Bill,” features a bald eagle carrying a bill through National Mall monuments.
“Supply Line” was designed to promote the “Make America Healthy Again” initiative and resembles the old-school game “Tapper.”
Lastly, the arcade includes “Trump Savings Tycoon,” which can be compared to “Duck Hunt” and promotes Trump Accounts, a federal child investment program established in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
A White House official told Fox News that the arcade was created in “an effort to further contrast between a culture of fun and winning and the dark socialist vision Democrats have for America.”
Many have taken to X to share their opinions. One X user wrote, “Whatever you think about immigration policy, these are human beings. Their detention and deportation shouldn’t be turned into entertainment.”
On the other hand, some users found the effort to be entertaining: “Hahha Greatest Whitehouse EVER!”
