I see where two Albuquerque Isotopes got into a fight in the seventh inning of their game against Salt Lake at Smiths Ballpark, this week. The agent for Alex Guerrero claims Miguel Olivo bit off part of his clients ear.
I guess if the goal is to fight like Tyson, this is working out for at least one of them.
However, the Dodgers released the 35-year-old Olivo days later.
The worst part was that the players apparently didnt care that there was an announced near-sellout crowd of mostly grade-schoolers in attendance. It was Kids Day. (For some interesting snapshots of the incident, check out these at StingEmBees.com.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51TNarRq_z8As with most things, theres a lesson from this. When I was a kid, I thought all teams got along and everybody was on the same page. I later learned that teams are just like any business. There are motivated people, altruistic people, lazy people and downright strange people at most peoples work even in sports.
And no, youre not necessarily all on the same team.
You have to work at trying to be grownups.
Yeah, its hard.
Sports just seem to make it harder.
