SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz on Wednesday announced the signings of two players who will be looking to make a strong impression during training camp after previously being involved with the organization.
Guard Trevon Bluiett and forward Juwan Morgan are the latest players to join the Jazz. Having played collegiately at Xavier, Bluiett last season was on a two-way contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, but played seven games for the Salt Lake City Stars and averaged 13.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game during that stint.
Morgan played collegiately at Indiana and then was on Utah’s summer league roster in July. He played six total games during the Salt Lake City Summer League and the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. In Las Vegas, he averaged 6.8 points on 45.8 percent from the field and 5.5 rebounds in 17.3 minutes per game.

As usual, terms of the deals were not released, but given that all 15 of the Jazz’s roster spots as well as both of their two-way contracts are occupied, Bluiett and Morgan will likely participate in Utah’s training camp with the idea that they’ll play for the Stars next season.
Elsewhere of local note in the NBA, former Lone Peak High School and BYU star Eric Mika signed Tuesday with the Sacramento Kings. Mika had a predraft workout with the Kings in 2017, and has since played in Italy and Germany.
In July, he was on Sacramento’s summer league roster and played very well. During the California Classic, he averaged 8.3 points and 9.3 rebounds in 19.3 minutes over three games, and then in the NBA Summer League, he averaged 9.2 points and seven rebounds in 17 minutes over five games.
The Athletic’s Jason Jones tweeted Tuesday about the signing, “Another player from summer league will be in training camp with the Kings,” indicating Mika’s deal is like those the Jazz signed Bluiett and Morgan to.
