SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Royals FC remained busy on the transaction front Wednesday, and made its most significant deal of the week.

URFC traded forward Katie Stengel to the Houston Dash in exchange for two second-round picks, one in the 2020 draft, which will take place on Jan. 16, and one in 2021.

Getting draft picks for Stengel is an interesting move for a URFC team that has struggled its first two seasons to score. In 2018, Stengel led the team in goals scored with six, and although she took a step back in 2019 with just two, she was a consistent threat and finished third on the team in shots with 31.

URFC still has both of its top goal-scorers from 2019, Amy Rodriguez and Christen Press, and 2018 backups Taylor Lytle and Brittany Ratcliffe, who both missed all of 2019 because of injury.
