Corner Canyon quarterback Jaxson Dart has certainly had a great season for the undefeated Chargers, as he leads Utah by a wide margin in touchdown passes and is second in passing yards.
After largely flying under the recruiting radar before this year (he transferred this year from Roy), Dart has started to rack up Power Five scholarship offers, and in an update Tuesday of ESPN’s top 300 recruits in the nation, he was called “the biggest mover,” as he went from a 3-star prospect to No. 73 overall in the country.
Dart most recently announced that he received an offer from USC a few days ago, and in the ESPN piece, he also mentioned Arizona State, UCLA, Iowa State, TCU and BYU as schools he’s interested in.
“Those schools all have a leg up, but any school that needs a quarterback is going to start looking Dart’s way,” the story says. “With injuries and transfers, there is never enough depth at the quarterback position.”
Noting Dart’s “pin-point accuracy,” efficiency, arm talent and mobility, the story says, “Based on production alone, the argument could be made that he has had the best quarterback performance in the 2021 class.”
Two other prospects from Utah appear on the latest ESPN 300, and both are offensive linemen committed to Oregon. At No. 94 is Orem’s Kingsley Suamataia, and at No. 189 is Dart’s teammate Jackson Light (a third Utahn, Kearns safety/wide receiver Jeffrey Bassa, announced his commitment to the Ducks on Monday night).
Two more in the ESPN 300 are committed to the Utah Utes. At No. 179 is Hawaii linebacker Mason Tufaga, and at No. 194 is California quarterback Peter Costelli.
