SALT LAKE CITY — Utah’s 2020 football schedule has been released.

The Utes will open the season Nov. 7 at Rice-Eccles Stadium against Arizona. They’ll face UCLA at the Rose Bowl the following Friday. After that is a Nov. 21 home game against USC and a Nov. 28 contest at Arizona State.

Utah closes things out Dec. 5 at home with a crossover game with Oregon State and a Dec. 11 trip to Colorado (a second Friday date for the Utes). The weekend of Dec. 18-19 will feature the Pac-12 Championship Game or another to-be-determined matchup with the North Division.

As previously announced, fans will not be permitted to attend any Pac-12 football games this season. Start times and broadcast information will be announced at a later date.

Utah opens camp Friday. Head coach Kyle Whittingham noted that getting the schedule adds to the excitement. Earlier this week, he said it brings more clarity to know the order of opponents — allowing them to start game planning and scouting.

As two-time defending Pac-12 South champions, the Utes have obviously fared well in recent years against division foes. Over their championship run the past two seasons, they’re 8-2 against divisional rivals (Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, UCLA and USC) — outscoring them by a whopping 347-151 margin.

Including a crossover game at Oregon State, Utah went 5-1 in 2019 against this year’s scheduled opponents. The Utes defeated Arizona (35-7), Arizona State (21-3), Colorado (45-15), Oregon State (52-7) and UCLA (49-3). The lone loss was a 30-23 setback at USC.

In 2018, Utah didn’t face Oregon State. The Utes did, however, top Arizona (42-10), Colorado (30-7), UCLA (41-10) and USC (41-28). They dropped a 38-20 decision at Arizona State.
