SALT LAKE CITY — A one-time transfer to the Utah football team is reportedly considering a move again.
Linebacker Sione Lund has entered the transfer portal, 247 Sports reported Wednesday. He is not with the team, the Deseret News’ Dirk Facer reported earlier, and was suspended in March for an undisclosed violation of team rules.
Lund, who prepped at Brighton High, played in all 13 games for the Utes last season, starting one against UCLA. He finished the year with six tackles.
He transferred to Utah and served a year in residence in 2018 after starting his college career at Stanford. Lund was rated a four-star recruit coming out of Brighton and signed to the Cardinal’s 2017 class as a running back before switching to linebacker when he joined the Utah program.
