Wednesday’s NBA draft day started out busy for the Utah Jazz.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski first reported, and multiple outlets quickly followed, that the Jazz will trade the 23rd pick in the draft as well as the draft rights to 2008 second-round pick Ante Tomic to the New York Knicks for the 27th and 38th selections.

The teams announced the deal a short time later.

Should they keep both picks, the move will allow the Jazz two chances to get players they like in a draft that is expected to be wide open in the 15-40 range. For the Knicks, the 23rd pick could help them move up from the 8th pick they also own should they desire.
