The Utah Jazz and Derrick Favors are reuniting.

Favors spent just over eight seasons with the Jazz before he was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans in the offseason of 2019 and has reportedly been hoping to return to Utah at some point ever since he left.

For months the the 29-year-old big man has been linked to the Jazz in reports of both sides showing interest in a possible reunion and and the rumors were made reality on Friday.

Favors returns to the Jazz on a three-year deal worth nearly $30 million, according to league sources. The Athletic’s Tony Jones was first to report the deal.

The defensively-minded Favors returns to a team that has significantly upgraded on the offensive end since his last run with the Jazz and gives the team strength in the frontcourt that was missing throughout the 2019-20 campaign.
