Timmy Allen’s success through his first two seasons in the Utah basketball program helped him land on the Julius Erving Award watch list released Wednesday.
Allen is one of 20 players named to the watch list for an award, in its seventh year of existence, that annually honors the top small forward in Division I men’s college basketball.
The 6-foot-6, 198-pound Allen is coming off a season in which he led the Utes in scoring (17.3 points per game) and rebounding (7.3 rpg) while also averaging 3.0 assists and 1.2 steals per contest.
He had six double-doubles on the year and was named to the 2020 All-Pac-12 second team, one year after earning Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honors.
Allen is one of four returning starters for the Utes in 2020-21, along with forward Riley Battin, guard Rylan Jones and center Branden Carlson.
