With the early college football signing period set for Wednesday, the Utah Utes got a commitment from another in-state prospect with deep ties to the program.
Woods Cross defensive tackle Michael Mokofisi announced his pledge to the program on Sunday night via Twitter, continuing a legacy that has seen both his father Filipo Sr. and brother Filipo Jr., as well as numerous uncles, play for the Utes.

As for Michael Mokofisi, he’s listed at 6-foot-3 and 300 pounds by 247 Sports. As a senior last year for Woods Cross, he tallied 33 tackles and 2.5 sacks, according to Deseret News statistics.
Listed as a 3-star prospect, Mokofisi also has scholarship offers from Pac-12 schools USC and Arizona, in-state foe BYU and Nebraska.
Mokofisi becomes the 17th player to be committed to Utah in its 2021 class.
