The Utah Runnin’ Utes finally got on the court Thursday for their 2020-21 season opener, and they certainly made it count, beating the Washington Huskies 76-62 in a game that was only that close because the Huskies scored the final seven points in garbage time.

Here are three keys from the game.
- The Utes led by 11 early in the second half before allowing the Huskies to creep back within five at 51-46. At that point, however, Utah went on an 18-0 run, controlling play on both ends of the floor to pull away.
- After a first half in which both teams struggled from the field, the Utes wound up shooting 44 percent from the field while Washington shot just 35 percent. Utah also had big advantages from the foul line and in the assist category.
- Three Utes finished in double figures, led by Alfonso Plummer’s 21 points, while just two Huskies did, and one of those only happened in the final minute. Quade Green led Washington with 21.
