The Utah State Aggies football program on National Signing Day Wednesday added a player whose family has deep connections to another university in Utah.
Breaker Mendenhall, the son of former BYU Cougars head football coach Bronco Mendenhall, signed with the Aggies out of Western Albemarle High School in Virginia.
Bronco Mendenhall has been the head football coach at the University of Virginia since December 2015.
Breaker Mendenhall is listed as a 6-foot-3, 180-pound safety. According to 247 Sports, Utah State is the only school to have offered him a scholarship. Bronco Mendenhall also played defensive back in college at Oregon State.
