SALT LAKE CITY — Find a way to exercise during the novel coronavirus pandemic. It is good for you.

That was the gist of a message from former BYU star and current Kansas City Chiefs safety Dan Sorensen.

Sorensen was featured in a video posted on the Chiefs’ official Instagram account Thursday afternoon, decked out in BYU regalia, and he reached out to Kansas City fans, wherever they might be.

“Wanted to let you know that my family and I are doing well,” Sorensen said to start. “This is a difficult time for a lot of us. We are thinking of you, praying for you guys. I am excited for football season and hope to see you guys soon.”

Sorensen then went on to extol the virtues of exercise, in whatever form or fashion it might be, including pushups, situps or bench-pressing children.

“However you can do it, just get it done,” he said.

Sorensen, affectionately know at Dirty Dan, was a key cog in the Chiefs’ run to the 2020 Super Bowl. He played in 16 games total in 2019 and finished with 44 tackles and two interceptions.

He just finished his sixth NFL season, all of which have been spent in Kansas City.
