SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz kept their winning streak going, extending it to five games with a tougher-than-expected 111-105 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

Here are three takeaways that defined the game:

  • Bojan Bogdanovic had a strong night for the Jazz one game after a quiet offensive outing in Utah’s win over Boston the night before. Bogdanovic scored a game-high 32 points — his 11th 30-point game of the year — on 12 of 18 shooting with three 3-pointers and added five rebounds and two assists against the Pistons, while Donovan Mitchell had 25 points and five rebounds for the Jazz. Detroit got 30 points from Christian Wood.
  • Utah (41-22) watched what was once a 22-point first-half lead lead whittled down when Detroit (20-44) outscored the Jazz 34-24 in the third, then scored the first six points of the fourth to tie the game at 79-79 with 10:38 to play. Utah — which outshot the Pistons 51.9% to 46.5% from the field — went on an 18-2 run to take a 97-81 lead with 5:51 to play.
  • The Pistons, despite never leading by more than two points and trailing the majority of the game, made it interesting in the final minute by using a 13-2 run to cut the Jazz lead to 105-102 with 42.1 seconds to play. On the ensuing possession, Rudy Gobert was fouled with 18.5 seconds left and 0.5 seconds remaining on the shot clock. The Utah big man hit both free throws to give the Jazz a five-point lead as Utah wrapped up the close win at the free-throw line.
