Recruiting has been hindered a great deal during the coronavirus pandemic, but the Utah football program has secured a big commitment for its 2021 class nonetheless.
On Saturday evening, 4-star California quarterback Peter Costelli announced via Twitter that he has pledged to the program. He is ranked as the ninth-best quarterback prospect in the country for 2021 by 247 Sports.

Listed by 247 Sports at 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, the Mission Viejo High School signal caller has received interest from programs across the Power 5 conferences. According to 247 Sports, Michigan State, Nebraska and Northwestern have showed particular interest.
Costelli is the first prospect to commit to the Utes for 2021.
