SALT LAKE CITY — Former BYU cornerback Michael Davis will stay in Los Angeles for the 2020 season.
Davis signed his restricted free agency tender last week with the Chargers, who the corner has played for since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2017. Before entering free agency last month, Los Angeles placed a second-round tender on the restricted free agent.
By signing the tender, Davis will be paid an estimated $3.25 million next season, according to tender numbers from Over the Cap.

Davis started 21 games over the past two seasons for the Chargers, providing key depth in the defensive secondary for Los Angeles. He finished the 2019 season with 39 tackles and a career-best nine pass deflections and two interceptions while starting 11 of the team’s final 13 games.
The deadline for restricted free agents to sign offer sheets is April 17.
Former BYU quarterback Taysom Hill, who entered the league the same offseason as Davis, is also a restricted free agent and had a first-round tender placed on him by the New Orleans Saints.
