Larsa Pippen — the ex-wife of NBA legend Scottie Pippen — recently revealed how much her ex-husband made during his career, a number that’s higher than his Chicago Bulls teammate Michael Jordan.
What’s the news:
- On Sunday night, ESPN and Netflix launched their new documentary series “The Last Dance.”
- The second hour emphasized Scottie Pippen’s salary woes. Many considered him underpaid at the time (he had a contract for $18 million over seven years).
- But Larsa Pippen revealed that Scottie Pippen didn’t do too bad in his career. She tweeted out a screenshot of an article for Bleacher Report, which revealed Scottie Pippen made $109,192,430 over the course of his career — earning $20 million more than Jordan did during his career.
- She wrote on Twitter; “Thx for your concern Scottie did ok #TheLastDance.”
What Scottie Pippen earned:
- Scottie Pippen’s earnings of $109.19 beat out Jordan’s $93.29 million “which even includes His Airness’ salary during his 18-month baseball hiatus. Jordan made most of his NBA salary in his final two years with the Bulls, earning over $30 million each season,” according to the Bleacher Report.
- Scottie Pippen’s earnings came mostly after he left Chicago. He played with the Houston Rockets on a five-year, $67.2 million deal. He was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers. He finished his career in Chicago on a 23-game stretch, netting $10 million in the process.
- Per Bleacher Report: “He made more on a per-year basis on the contract he signed at age 38 than he did his entire prime.”
