SALT LAKE CITY — In an effort to support the Utah Food Bank, the Larry H. Miller Group, which includes the Utah Jazz, announced Wednesday that it will be holding a statewide food drive beginning April 30 and running through May 6.

“We invite communities throughout the state to join us in assisting those who may be facing challenges during this unprecedented time,” Gail Miller, owner and chairwoman of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies, said in a statement. “One of our guiding principles at the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies is to ‘go about doing good until there is too much good in the world.’ I am impressed with Utahns’ willingness to collaborate and to serve others. Together, we can help fulfill a critical need for the Utah Food Bank and its partners.”

The “Driven to Assist” campaign will have 37 easy to access drive-thru drop-off locations, which includes the Park Place lot adjacent to Vivint Arena, the North parking lot at Smith’s Ballpark, as well as all 22 Larry H. Miller car dealerships and 13 LHM movie theaters.

Anyone looking to make donations at any of the drive-thru locations can do so between 2-6 p.m. each day, except Sunday May 3.

Donations must be nonperishable food items. Anything needing to be refrigerated or frozen will not be accepted. Among the most needed items are canned goods and boxed food items and meals like peanut butter, mac & cheese, canned meats and canned fruits.

Each location will be staffed and employ social distancing and sanitization practices.

Additionally, each location is offering one “thank you for the assist” per vehicle in the form of vouchers and coupons to those who donate a minimum of eight cans of food or the equivalent.

  • Each LHM automobile dealership will offer a $10 coupon for a lube, oil and filter change at any of its Utah locations.
  • Each Megaplex Theatre will provide a large tub of freshly popped Megaplex popcorn, delivered via its Curbside Popcorn Service.
  • Smith’s Ballpark will provide a voucher for two tickets to a Salt Lake Bees baseball game.
  • Vivint Smart Home Arena will provide a $10 online credit to the Utah Jazz Team Store.
