Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry said he’s happy that his team didn’t embrace the idea of a “The Last Dance” documentary when they finished their magical run.

Curry recently appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” where he talked about how much he has enjoyed ESPN’s “The Last Dance” — a documentary series about Michael Jordan and the NBA championship-winning Chicago Bulls.

Curry said Golden Stare was approached for a similar documentary but turned it down.

“When we were going through these five Finals runs the last five years, our last year we turned down an opportunity, I believe, to have cameras follow our last season. I think that was the right decision,” Curry said, per Bleacher Report.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who played for the Chicago Bulls during Jordan’s run, told The Athletic the team rejected the idea because it would have put an odd vibe on their season.

He said, “You’re basically telling your players that you believe this is ending, and also you’re violating a principle of the sanctity of the locker room. So it never occurred to me, nor does it now, to do anything of the sort for our team.”

But a second “The Last Dance” may come down the road. Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant reportedly allowed a film crew to document his final season in the NBA, according to my report for the Deseret News.

The film crew captured Bryant’s final season, which included a 60-point final game against the Utah Jazz.

John Black, who led the Lakers’ public relations department at the time, confirmed the footage existed to ESPN.

He said, “They had unprecedented and, by far, greater access than anyone else ever. We certainly allowed them to do everything we could within what the league would allow, and sometimes, with a wink and look-the-other-way, allowed them even more.”
