JEREMY RANCH — Two-time defending champion Preston Summerhays will not be defending his title at the Utah Men’s State Amateur this week. Instead he will be playing in an American Junior Golf Association event that was recently added to the schedule.

Summerhays became the youngest winner ever when he won in 2018 at age 15 at Oakridge Country Club and he repeated last year at Soldier Hollow.

The State Amateur will begin Tuesday at Jeremy Ranch Country Club and continue through Saturday with a field of 144 golfers.
