For the second day in a row, Tony Finau had a rough second nine at the U.S. Open and finds himself out of contention going into the final round at Winged Foot Golf Club in New York.

Finau made four bogeys on his final eight holes to finish with a 3-over-par 73 for the second straight day and goes into Sunday’s final 18 holes in a tie for 21st place at 5-over-par 215, 10 shots behind leader Matthew Wolff.

The Salt Lake native had begun the day six shots off the lead and after making a birdie at No. 10, he was 1-under on the day and just 1-over for the tournament. However, he bogeyed the next hole and also made bogeys at 11, 13, 15 and 18.

A day earlier, Finau had made five bogeys and a birdie on his final nine holes of the day after being under par on his first nine.

While Finau has little chance of winning, he has a chance to finish in the top 10 at a major championship for the eighth time in his career. His best finish at the U.S. Open was fifth in 2018 and last month he tied for fourth at the PGA Championship.

Finau will tee off Sunday at 9:29 a.m. MDT with Lee Westwood.
