The 2A boys golf regular season came to a close this week with the final region tournaments of the season. The focus now shifts to the state tournament at Talons Cove in Saratoga Springs next Wednesday and Thursday at 9 a.m.
Draper APA, Altamont, Rowland Hall and Beaver won their respective region championships and will be among the top contenders for the state title. Beaver won last year’s state title by 115 strokes, and its 294 scoring average is the best among the region champs, followed by Rowland Hall with a 319 average.
The four region medalists are Draper APA’s Skylar Strubin, Altamont’s Dicein Taylor, Rowland Hall’s Matt Siegal and Beaver’s Klayson Matheson. Matheson finished with the low scoring average in 2A at 70.6 strokes.
