The Utah men’s basketball team’s next scheduled game — at home against Oregon State on Wednesday — has been postponed, the school announced Tuesday.
Oregon State alerted Utah the game would need to be postponed due to COVID-19 testing and contacting tracing protocols. Both teams will work with the Pac-12 to try and find an agreeable date to reschedule the game.
It’s the Utes’ second Pac-12 game to be postponed, including a matchup with Arizona State scheduled right before Christmas.
Utah’s next scheduled game is now a home contest against No. 17 Oregon on Sunday. The Ducks, who are 8-1 and 3-0 in league play, are the lone Pac-12 team ranked in the top 25 polls.
The Utes (4-3, 1-2 Pac-12) are coming off a two-game California road trip, where they lost to UCLA and USC. Utah fell in a close, two-point game against the Bruins, then a cold shooting spell in the second half cost the Utes in an 18-point loss against the Trojans.
Even with the Oregon State game postponement, Utah’s next three scheduled games will be played at the Huntsman Center — against Oregon, Stanford (Jan. 13) and California (Jan. 16).
