The Clearfield Falcons took down the Bountiful Braves 4-1 behind a dominating performance from ace pitcher Jayci Finch on Wednesday. Finch didn’t allow a single earned run while striking out eight batters. The only run Clearfield gave up was off an error in the final inning of the game.

Bountiful’s Annie Salazar also pitched a very nice game, allowing only one earned run, but it wasn’t enough as Clearfield figured out a way to get four Falcons across home plate. Specifically they were able to capitalize on some outfield errors that led to three runs in the third inning.

“It’s always fun playing Bountiful,” Clearfield coach Karly Bates said. “They’re talented, well-coached and they always have some tricks up their sleeve. It makes it all the more satisfying being able to walk away with a W!”
