Seldom-used BYU Cougars guard Jesse Wade is entering the transfer portal for the second time in his collegiate career.

On Wednesday evening, Verbal Commits reported the move, and a short time later, Wade wrote a message on Twitter indicating such.

A star out of Davis High — he won Deseret News’ Mr. Basketball award in 2015 — Wade began his collegiate career at Gonzaga, playing there one season before serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in France. Upon his return in 2018, he transferred to BYU.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Wade wound up appearing in just nine games for the Cougars — all this season — as he was plagued by injuries, and played a total of 42 minutes and scored nine points.
