LAS VEGAS — The West Coast Conference Tournament semifinal matchups have been set.
BYU, the No. 2 seed, will take on No. 3 Pepperdine Monday (10 p.m., MST, ESPN2) after the Waves defeated No. 7 Santa Clara 78-70 Saturday night in a quarterfinal game at Orleans Arena.
Pepperdine led 40-35 at halftime and pulled away in the second half. The Waves led by as many as 18. But the Broncos battled back with a 15-2 run late in the game and cut the deficit to as little as four points, 74-70.

While Pepperdine didn’t score a field goal over the final 5:42 of the contest, it made crucial free throws down the stretch.
Guard Colbey Ross scored a game-high 25 points and Kessler Edwards added 21 for the Waves.
BYU and Pepperdine split their regular-season series. The Cougars beat the Waves 65-54 in Provo on Jan. 23. BYU fell at Pepperdine 76-73 in Malibu on Jan. 27.
In Monday’s other semifinal game, No. 1 Gonzaga will face No. 4 Saint Mary’s, which defeated No. 5 Loyola Marymount Saturday 52-47.
