In the decade since Utah joined the Pac-12, in 2011, the Utes have had their ups and downs.

Utah won the Pac-12 South championship in 2018 and 2019 but lost in the Pac-12 Championship game both years

The Utes added key transfers like quarterback Charlie Brewer and running backs TJ Pledger and Chris Curry to a team that returns almost all of its players from 2020.

After suffering disappointing setbacks in the championship game, Utah is eager to win the league title in 2021.

“We talk a lot about it. That’s left a salty taste in all of our mouths. We talk about winning the Pac-12 all the time. We talk about the Rose Bowl. It’s good to talk about it,” said junior wide receiver Britain Covey. “It’s good to begin with the end in mind. I think that’s something we all have in the back of our minds going into the season. Once it comes to fall, we’ll focus on Weber State and BYU (the first two games of the season). Right now, we’re working. Most of the time when we break the huddle, we’ll break it with ‘champions,’ because that’s our goal.”

If Brewer hype is real and we remain healthy, 10-2 or 11-1.  If we win in LA, we should win the South.

I doubt very much that I fully realize, even partially realize, what goes on in the office of a commish for a major conference. I am certain that he didn’t make all of those decisions that are laughed at and groaned over, on his own, particularly the one about not getting the football season going as rapidly as other conferences. He was following orders on that one, orders that came from a consortium of lawyers and other PAC brass. Good wishes as he decides his next challenge.
