NBA 2K has announced the full roster of cover athletes for NBA 2K22 — and there are a lot of athletes this year.
Who is on the NBA 2K22 cover?
Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic will grace the standard edition and the cross-gen bundle, which allows gamers to play on current and next-generation consoles.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Durant will be on the cover for the NBA 75th Anniversary Edition, which will honor the league’s 75th year.
- All the covers will include some pastel artwork from Charly Palmer, whose work has been appeared in exhibitions across the country. His artwork included the “Civil Rights” series of paintings and compositions in the “America Must Change” project, which made the cover of Time magazine in July 2020.

2K to announce first WNBA cover athlete
NBA 2K will reveal a special version of the standard edition of the game that will include Candace Parker, who is a five-time WNBA All-Star and WNBA champion.
- “The cover of NBA 2K is such a pivotal platform to inspire young ballers, and I wanted future WNBA stars to know that they can be cover athletes, too,” said Parker in a statement. “Representation matters, so this is a special moment of progress for the sport and the series. To be part of this historic cover is a testament to the growth and rising popularity of the women’s game, and I’m proud to be the first female cover athlete to be the face of NBA 2K.”
This makes 2K the first video game company to have a WNBA cover athlete. There was a rumor NBA 2K would add a WNBA star to the cover in NBA 2K21.
How much will NBA 2K22 cost?
The Standard Edition will be available for $59.99 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
- It will cost $69.99 on new-gen consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S).
The Cross-Gen Digital Bundle will cost $79.99 for PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
- This will give players access to the standard edition and the new-gen edition.
NBA 2K22 NBA 75th Anniversary Edition will go for $99.99 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
- This also includes dual access to both platforms.
