In the BYU Cougars’ 2024 recruiting class, Noah Lugo out of Texas committed and signed after having previously pledged to play for the UTSA Roadrunners.

Late Thursday afternoon, Lugo announced on social media that he is entering the transfer portal following his freshman year in Provo.

“Thank you BYU football and Coach Kalani and Coach Roderick for allowing me to be a Cougar, with that being said I have entered the transfer portal with 4 years of eligibility!!,” Lugo wrote on X.

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, Lugo was ranked as the 77th-best quarterback prospect in the country in the Class of 2024 by 247 Sports. He did not register a snap this season as Jake Retzlaff and Gerry Bohanon were the lone BYU signal callers to do so.

Looking forward to the 2025 season, BYU still has Retzlaff at quarterback, along with Treyson Bourguet, McCae Hillstead and Cole Hagen.
