Salem Hills and Cedar Valley claimed state titles at the 5A competitive cheer state championships at UVU on Friday.

For Salem Hills, it was a 3-peat in the all-girls division, while Cedar Valley won the co-ed division for its first state title in the brief three-year period that the UHSAA has sanctioned competitive cheer.

Cedar Valley was runner-up last year to Wasatch, but on Friday it swept all three categories in co-ed division to run away with the title. Hunter finished second, while Northridge, Cyprus and Skyline rounded out the top five.

Hunter’s runner-up finish was boosted by a top three finish in all three categories.

Like Cedar Valley, Salem Hills swept all three categories to claim its third straight all-girls title. Woods Cross finished second, while Olympus, Spanish Fork and Bountiful rounded out the top five.
