Bryce Harper has been on a tear, but it’s his shirt that got attention on social media.
Harper was recently photographed walking into a Philadelphia Phillies game wearing a shirt that said, “Stripling Warriors Mommas Boys” and featured a cartoon image of the Stripling Warriors from the Book of Mormon.
The photo of Harper was originally shared by the Phillies on social media and later by MLB fits on Instagram.
The shirt evoked nostalgia for some users on X and members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, reminding them of similar shirts they owned as missionaries.
Grok on the Stripling Warriors
The post about the shirt put Grok, the AI tool for X, and its knowledge of the Book of Mormon to the test as some users asked questions about the Stripling Warriors.
How well did Grok do? Here are some of its responses.
Bryce Harper’s 2025 season
The Phillies’ first baseman has 21 home runs and 58 RBIs this season, and on Monday, he recorded a first for a Phillies player with his pair of home runs.
“He’s the only player in MLB this season with multiple 440-foot homers in the same game — and the first Phillies player to do so since Statcast began tracking in 2015,″ according to MLB.com.
Harper became the 19th player in league history to hit at least 20 home runs in at least 11 seasons while under 33 years old, according to CBS Sports’ Jeff Kerr.
Harper joins players such as Alex Rodriguez, Hank Aaron, Mickey Mantle, Ken Griffey Jr. and Willie Mays to accomplish the feat.
