Each week, the Deseret News collects high school football stats from around the state, with approximately 85% of the coaches submitting their offensive and defensive stats.

Here’s a look at some headliner performances from Week 3. Also check out the Deseret News’ complete sortable leaders feature for offense, defense and special teams.


Class 6A

Logan Merrell, Copper Hills — Returned two second-half interceptions for touchdowns to go along with his three tackles as he helped Copper Hills improve to 2-1 with the 43-13 win over Hunter.

Helaman Casuga, Corner Canyon — Completed 18 of 29 passes for 342 yards and four touchdowns and also rushed the ball five times for 48 yards and two scores in leading Corner Canyon to the 67-21 win over Fremont.

Jaxton Itaaheau, Davis — Caught nine passes for 175 yards and three of Tradon Bessinger’s seven touchdowns as the Darts beat Mountain Ridge in a shootout 49-34.

Kaneal Sweetwyne, Skyridge — Completed 12 of 14 passes for 236 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for two more TDs — all in the first half — as the Falcons rolled past East 68-0.


Class 5A

Treven Cooke, Alta — Had a huge day on the ground as he rushed the ball 26 times for 251 yards and two touchdowns in leading the Hawks past West Jordan for the 30-0 win.

Benji Tolman, Viewmont — Racked up 284 yards of offense and four touchdowns (two rushing, two receiving) in leading Viewmont to the 48-7 win over Highland.

Sean Brant, Clearfield — Carried the ball 24 times for 175 and one touchdown as he helped the Falcons control the clock in a 23-7 win over Jordan.

Trevyn Wall, Payson — Completed 19 of 24 passes for 385 yards and three touchdowns as Payson eased past Kearns for the 45-7 victory.


Class 4A

Ryder Hales, Salem Hills — Had a great day under center in Salem Hills’ 33-15 win over West Field as he completed 25 of 35 passes for 355 yards and three TDs.

Graham Livingston, Ridgeline — Hauled in eight catches for 135 yards and three touchdowns and also added an interception defensively as the visiting Riverhawks blanked Brighton 41-0.

Van Dailey, Crimson Cliffs — Rushed for three touchdowns, giving him six on the season, as the Mustangs topped Cedar Valley 42-14.

Eli Wheatley, Green Canyon — Had a strong game defensively with 10 tackles and two sacks as the visiting Wolves edged Pleasant Grove 13-12.

Levi Shaw, Pine View — Completed 23 of 30 passes for 298 yards and three touchdowns in leading Pine View past Maple Mountain for the 38-14 win.


Class 3A

Ryder Miller, Canyon View — Rushed the ball eight times for 116 yards and three TDs and also threw for another score as Canyon View traveled to Nevada to beat Moapa Valley, 35-21.

Price Armstrong, Juab — Completed 24 of 35 passes for 238 yards and three TDs as Juab edged South Summit 29-21.

Ty Pringle, Manti — Caught five passes for 62 yards and two touchdowns and then also added two interceptions and six tackles on defense as Manti edge Grantsville 23-7 in a big 3A clash.


Class 2A

Rayce Freeman, South Sevier — Recorded five tackles and a pick-six, and also caught three passes for 58 yards and two more TDs to lead South Sevier to the easy 47-0 win over North Sevier.

Jagger Nieves, San Juan — Carried the ball 28 times for 351 yards and five TDs and added five tackles defensively in San Juan’s 46-32 win over Kanab. He opened the game with an 82-yard touchdown run.


Class 1A

Noah Wolff, Beaver — Caught seven passes for 70 yards and a score and returned a kickoff for a touchdown in leading Beaver to the 49-7 win over Emery.

Connor Stevens, Millard — Completed 8 of 13 passes for 167 yards and three TDs and rushed for a pair of touchdowns in Millard’s 47-20 win over Parowan.
