Skyridge was crowned champion of the 36-team UVU Invitational on Saturday at the UCCU Center.

After posting a 2-0 record in pool play on both Thursday and Friday to qualify into the Gold Bracket, the Falcons won a pair of thrilling five setters on Saturday to win the championship.

In the semifinals, Skyridge beat Orem 26-24, 23-25, 24-26, 25-17, 25-12. The teams met a few weeks ago with Skyridge winning in four games.

In the other Gold Bracket semifinal, Woods Cross made quick work of Lone Peak in the final for the 25-13, 25-13, 25-22 victory.

In the Gold Bracket final, just as it did in the semifinals, Skyridge rallied from a 2-1 deficit in another nailbiter as it beat Woods Cross 26-28, 26-24, 23-25, 25-20, 15-10.

Skyview, Idaho ended up winning the Silver Bracket as it beat Corner Canyon in the championship 3-0.

Mountain Ridge won the Bronze Bracket as it beat Desert Hills 3-1.
